SAKURA – OLYMPIA’S “EXCELLENT SCHOOL CATERERS” COMPETITION
Date Submitted: 27/11/2025
At Sakura – Olympia, the school kitchen is not only a place that provides daily nutrition but also a vital part of students’ holistic development. Each meal is prepared following a one-way kitchen process, strictly adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations, and supervised by experienced, dedicated catering staff, kitchen personnel, and school nurses.
The school considers its catering team as essential contributors who work quietly but meaningfully behind the scenes. Through every safe, nutritious, age-appropriate meal, they help build a healthy physical foundation for students. For this reason, the school annually organizes theoretical and practical competitions to reinforce knowledge and elevate the team’s professional capacity.

The “Food Safety and Hygiene Knowledge” Competition for the catering team and school nurses
As part of the 2025–2026 Caterers’ Competition, the theoretical round “Food Safety and Hygiene Knowledge” was organized to help catering staff and school nurses update new regulations, standards, and requirements related to food safety, school nutrition, and the procedures for food storage, preparation, sample retention, and traceability.
Beyond testing knowledge, the competition strengthened participants’ ability to identify cross-contamination risks, detect unsafe foods, and prevent foodborne incidents in the school kitchen.

The dishes presented to the judging panel demonstrated refined skills, aesthetic presentation, and balanced nutrition tailored to different student age groups.
The judges highly appreciated the seriousness, meticulous execution, and creative presentation shown by each competing team. The competition served not only as an assessment of technical ability but also as a “catalyst” motivating catering staff to continue learning, improving, and staying committed to their essential role in student care.
The 2025 Caterers’ Competition concluded with many positive outcomes. Both the theoretical and practical rounds enhanced knowledge, professional skills, and strengthened the spirit of responsibility, dedication, and pride across the catering team, kitchen staff, and school nurses.
