Date Submitted: 09/02/2026
In the joyful atmosphere of early spring, the Creative Spring Festival – Tet 2026 was successfully held at Olympia Primary and Middle School, offering students a day filled with energy, emotions, and meaningful learning experiences. More than a New Year celebration, the festival served as an “open classroom,” where tradition was approached through hands-on experiences and students’ own creativity.
The festival began with vibrant lion dance performances by Earth class students, energizing the atmosphere and conveying wishes for a peaceful and prosperous Lunar New Year. This was followed by cultural performances and spring-themed melodies presented by both students and teachers, reflecting the spirit of connection, confidence, and initiative—values consistently nurtured at Olympia.

The innocent and joyful lion dance performed by SOers brought a vibrant Tet atmosphere across the Sakura – Olympia schoolyard.
The Creative Spring Festival was organized as an open learning space, where students freely explored, participated, and experienced various booths filled with spring spirit. Each area was not only a place for fun, but also an opportunity for learning, helping students better understand traditional Tet culture through action and interaction.
At the calligraphy booth, students learned about the meaning of each character, felt the spiritual values of Tet, and appreciated the beauty of folk culture. The candied fruit and bánh thuẫn making booth offered a traditional culinary experience, where students practiced patience, dexterity, and teamwork.

By observing the calligrapher writing calligraphy, students experienced the spiritual value of this traditional art form.

The candied fruit and bánh thuẫn experience booth welcomed many enthusiastic young visitors.
The handmade Tet product display area was where students expressed creativity, aesthetic sense, and teamwork through each small creation. In particular, the bánh chưng wrapping booth helped students better understand the origin and meaning of this traditional cake, connecting cultural knowledge with an engaging hands-on experience.

The Tet product display area showcased students’ creative Tet-themed products.

The bánh chưng wrapping booth was filled with the fragrant aroma of glutinous rice, mung beans, and pork.
Alongside handicraft activities, a variety of traditional folk games such as ring toss, tò he modeling, bamboo pole dancing, stilt walking, and ô ăn quan brought a lively and cheerful atmosphere throughout the campus. Through these games, students not only developed physical strength and agility, but also learned cooperation, communication, sharing, and connection with peers across different grade levels.

The mandarin square capturing game challenged students’ thinking skills.

The bamboo pole dancing experience was lively and joyful.

The stilt walking experience was energetic and exciting.
The Creative Spring Festival – Tet 2026 was not only a time to “celebrate Tet,” but also an opportunity for Olympia students to understand Tet through experience, develop life skills, creative thinking, and an active learning mindset. Each activity contributed to nurturing students’ confidence, sense of responsibility, and love for traditional culture within a modern educational context.
The Creative Spring Festival – Tet 2026 concluded with joy, radiant smiles, and many beautiful memories. The school would like to extend sincere thanks to all students, teachers, and the organizing team for coming together to create such a complete, meaningful, and emotionally rich festival.
From these early spring experiences, Olympia believes that students will enter the new year with a positive, creative, and enthusiastic learning spirit, ready for future journeys of knowledge exploration.

We wish all SOers a warm and love-filled traditional Tet holiday!
