Date Submitted: 17/08/2026
On Saturday morning, August 15, 2026, Olympia Primary, Middle & High School held the Beginning-of-Year Parent Meeting for the 2026–2027 school year, with the participation of the School Leadership Team, teachers, and a large number of parents from across the school.
More than an opportunity to share important information ahead of the new school year, the meeting created a space for open dialogue, where the School and families could work toward a shared vision: aligning on goals, approaches, and ways of working together to ensure that every student has a learning journey that is both appropriate and effective.
STRATEGIC DIRECTIONS AND KEY PRIORITIES FOR THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR
The program began with a whole-school meeting, where the School Leadership Team and teachers welcomed parents in an open and formal atmosphere, ready to exchange ideas and discuss the year ahead. During the meeting, Ms. Nguyễn Thị Minh Tuyết – Principal of Olympia Primary, Middle & High School expressed her appreciation to parents for their trust and continued partnership with Olympia throughout students’ educational journeys. She reaffirmed the School’s commitment to holistic education, built upon three core pillars: Ethics – Health – Knowledge.

Ms. Nguyễn Thị Minh Tuyết – Principal of Olympia Primary, Middle & High School, shared the School’s key directions and priorities for the 2026–2027 school year with parents.
For the 2026–2027 school year, Olympia has introduced the theme “Autonomous Knowledge - Personalized Journeys” with a focus on helping students become increasingly independent and proactive learners while respecting and nurturing their individual abilities, interests, and aspirations.
Specifically, “Autonomous Knowledge” refers to students developing independent thinking skills, taking initiative in exploring, analyzing, and constructing knowledge in a world where information is increasingly abundant. Meanwhile, “Personalized Journeys” focuses on recognizing each student’s individual differences and building learning pathways that suit their needs, allowing every student to develop their strengths and make progress in their own way.
To turn these directions into practice, the School is focusing on three strategic priorities:
Personalized and differentiated learning: Each subject and teacher develops educational plans that respond to different student ability groups and learning needs.
Deepening the quality of the integrated international curriculum: The School continues to ensure continuity and coherence between the Vietnamese national curriculum and the Cambridge curriculum, while optimizing the learning load to maximize educational effectiveness without placing unnecessary pressure on students.
Transparent partnership between School and families: The School strengthens two-way communication so that parents receive clear and timely information and have a solid basis for working with the School to support their children’s learning and development.
During the discussion session, Dr. Nguyễn Thanh Hưng – Executive Director of the School System, together with the School Leadership Team, directly addressed parents’ questions and concerns. The two-way exchange helped clarify educational goals, programs, and approaches while strengthening alignment between the School and families in supporting students.

Dr. Nguyễn Thanh Hưng – Director of Education and Operations of the Sakura - Olympia School System, addressed parents’ questions and concerns.
PROGRESS IN ACADEMIC DEVELOPMENT AND THE K–12 EDUCATIONAL PATHWAY
One of the topics of particular interest to parents was the progress of Olympia’s academic programs and its long-term educational development.
At the Primary level, after two years of officially being recognized for the integrated Cambridge Primary program, Olympia students have achieved positive results in the Cambridge Checkpoint examinations. At the Middle School level, the School has officially completed the approval procedures to implement the Cambridge Lower Secondary program in three subjects: Mathematics, English, and Science, while preparing to organize Checkpoint examinations for students from Grade 8.
At the High School level, Olympia continues to develop a roadmap toward standardizing the integrated curriculum across the School System, with the goal of implementation from the 2027–2028 school year. At the same time, the School remains committed to ensuring strong learning outcomes for Grade 12 students in the national high school graduation examination and university admissions process.
These directions reflect Olympia’s ongoing efforts to build a coherent K–12 educational pathway, ensuring that each stage of students’ development is prepared in advance and connected to their long-term learning goals.
STRENGTHENING THE CONNECTION BETWEEN FAMILIES AND THE SCHOOL
Following the whole-school meeting, parents continued with classroom meetings alongside Homeroom Teachers, subject teachers, and international teachers. This session was also an important part of the meeting plan, providing parents with a closer look at the program, teaching team, and specific situation of each class.

In each classroom, Homeroom Teachers introduced the teaching team, learning programs, school and classroom regulations, while sharing an overview of the class at the beginning of the school year, along with goals and strategies for building a strong class community throughout 2026–2027.
In particular, welcome and sharing videos from international teachers offered parents a more personal introduction to the educators supporting their children. Through these messages, parents gained a better understanding of teaching approaches and ways in which families and teachers can work together to support students’ learning effectively.
The classroom meetings also provided a space for parents to share their perspectives and work directly with Homeroom Teachers to align on goals and appropriate strategies for each class community. During the meetings, Class Parent Representative Committees for the 2026–2027 school year were also elected, continuing to serve as an important bridge between families and the School.
CO-CREATING THE LEARNING JOURNEY FOR THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR
The Beginning-of-Year Parent Meeting is an important activity marking the start of a new school year, providing an opportunity for the School and families to align on educational directions and goals and build effective collaboration throughout students’ learning journeys. After all, holistic student development does not take place only in the classroom. It is a journey that requires connection between the School – Teachers – Families, with each side sharing information, understanding students’ needs, and consistently working together toward long-term goals.
With the continued partnership of parents, Olympia is ready to begin the 2026–2027 school year with the spirit of “Autonomous Knowledge - Personalized Journeys” – empowering every student not only to learn more effectively, but also to better understand themselves, take ownership of their learning, and confidently shape their own path of development.
We wish all Olympia students a new school year filled with energy, initiative, and the joy of discovery!
