SAKURA KINDERGARTEN WINS FIRST PRIZE IN THE CITYWIDE CONTEST “CREATING EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENTS THAT ENCOURAGE ACTIVE LEARNING FOR PRESCHOOL CHILDREN”

Date Submitted: 16/05/2025

Surpassing many outstanding educational institutions among 67 participating schools, Sakura Kindergarten – a member of the Sakura - Olympia School System – was honored to receive First Prize at the city-level contest “Creating Educational Environments that Encourage Active Learning for Preschool Children.” This is a well-deserved recognition for the school’s unwavering commitment to building a safe, friendly, and inspiring environment where every child is encouraged to be proactive, curious, and eager to explore the world.

An educational environment that fosters active learning for preschoolers is a concept deeply rooted in humanity and pedagogy. It is built upon appropriate physical infrastructure and modern teaching methods to help children become engaged, motivated, and creative learners. It is a space where children learn through exploration and experience, where they grow up in a safe, loving atmosphere – a place where imagination thrives and confidence is nurtured each day.

At Sakura Kindergarten, this environment goes beyond physical space, with vibrant learning corners and open-ended teaching materials, and is nurtured through an educational philosophy grounded in love and respect for each child’s unique personality. Here, children are heard and trusted. They are encouraged to express opinions, make choices, and, most importantly, to make mistakes and learn from them.

The “Ocean” mural was a collaborative creation by teachers and students at Sakura Kindergarten.

At Sakura Kindergarten, children are free to explore and “communicate” with the world around them.

Teachers are not just instructors but companions – patiently listening, gently guiding, and actively encouraging independence and a sense of responsibility in every child. Sakura children learn how to resolve conflicts with peers, how to wait patiently, how to share in collaboration, and to stay endlessly curious about the world. Every talent – from art, movement, and language to logical thinking – is valued and nurtured most naturally.

Role-playing activities foster children's creativity, collaboration, and self-help skills.

This award is not only a joyful recognition but also a powerful proof of a relentless journey in building character, a solid foundation for every child’s holistic development in an ever-changing world. It affirms a simple but profound truth: Every child, when growing up in a truly meaningful educational environment, can shine in their unique way.

Once again, congratulations to Sakura Kindergarten on this proud milestone!
